Costume Drama: A Fashion Show July 2015
Fundraiser for community theater - Designers compete for title of Asheville's Best in Show by creating wearable art in designated categories. I competed in the "Christmas in July" category. My piece was inspired by St. Lucia's Day and the winter solstice. In Sweden, this holiday is marked by the iconic image of a girl dress in a white dress with a red sash and a crown of candles on her head, bringing light to the darkest day of the year.
Senior thesis: "Girls Don't Cry" 2011
My senior collection was inspired by the juxtaposition of male and female characteristics in design cues. A mix of soft feminine fabrics and strong, traditional men's style lines in a line of tailored wovens.
